Make Sure You Make It Christmas

Make Sure You Make It Christmas
Wrap a package of your own design
Give a present worth giving
Look for eyes that could use a surprise
Show them reasons for living
It’s a season we all know
A special time to share
We’re believing it might snow
And taking extra care
Make sure you make it Christmas
See to it that you sing the songs
Be certain that you give it meaning
To last the whole year long
Listen closely for wishes
Maybe you can make one come true
Find what someone is missing
And send it back from you
Make the moments the memories
The kind we’ll always share
Fill the stockings with berries
And mistletoe the air
Make sure you make it Christmas
See to it that you’re full of cheer
Be certain you give it meaning
And make it last all year
Cast a spell over this holiday
Magic you can make happen
All that matters is what you give away
And how you did the wrapping
It’s a season we all know
A special time to share
We’re all praying for fresh snow
And sleigh bells in the air
Make sure you make it Christmas
See to it that you light the lights
Be certain you make it merry
Every holiday and night
After everyone goes off to bed
Tip-toe back to the tree
Leave a note — what an elf might have said
And sign off merrily

Looks Like It’s Holiday Time

Looks Like It’s Holiday Time
Outside it’s snowing
Our smiles are knowing
It looks like it’s holiday time again
The holly’s showing
And hearths are glowing
It looks like it’s holiday time again
Halls are decked now
Shoppers checked out
Trees are brimming with lights
Stockings hung out
Street bells ring out
These are without a doubt
The holiday sights
Yes, it looks like it‘s holiday time
Tonight
Our hearts are clapping
At gifts we’re wrapping
It looks like it’s holiday time again
There’s reindeer tapping
And children laughing
It looks like it’s holiday time again
Gather ‘round now
Hear the sounds how
Carolers fill the night
Dreams and wishes
Fresh baked dishes
Sounds and scents and Frankincense
Holiday rights
Yes, it seems like it’s holiday time
Tonight
With chestnuts roasting
And grown-ups toasting
It looks like it’s holiday time again
As sleds are coasting
The elves are boasting
It looks like it’s holiday time again
Celebrating
With thanks giving
For the love in our lives
When we wake up
Joy will take us
Once again with family and friends
On holiday flights
Oh, it feels like it’s holiday time
Tonight

Let the Joy of the Season Ring*

Let the Joy of the Season Ring

Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
Let the joy of the season ring
Let the hearts of every man be bright
And the spirits of the children sing

There’s a light for every shining star
A song for every heart
A holiday right where we are
A time to let it start

Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
Let the joy of the season ring
May each child believe that reindeer fly
Wide awake in wonder what they’ll bring

Tinseled trees and mistletoe
Green and red and white
These traditions we all know
And celebrate On this special night

Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
Let the joy of the season ring
Hear the Harold s sing of peace on earth
And of glory to a new born King

Once there came an angel child
A gift from up above
He taught one lesson all His life
The power of His love

Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
Let the joy of the season ring
Let good will to all man kind be rife
With lots of love in every living thing

Let’s awake a wish for every gift
One for who it’s to
We will wrap it with a hug and kiss
Tonight it will come true

Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
Let the joy of the season ring
Let the hearts of every man be bright
And the spirits of the children sing

Stuff the stockings, ring the bells
Spread good tide with cheer
All who gather round can tell
Christmas time is here!

Cricket in a Sink

Cricket in a Sink

I feel like a cricket in a sink

In the disposal drain, no less

Wondering how long I’ve got to think

Of a way to get out of this mess

It’s been a long series of wrongful turns

That have planted me in this hole

Now I fear one switch could churn

My mind, my body and soul

I must be getting dumber

I’m praying to a plumber

With only one gripe

Just open the pipe

And flush me on my way

That’s all I have to say

Why I’m Here

Why I’m Here

Why am I so reluctant to go?

What makes me stay on this way?

If I were in good health, I’d know

But now, like this,

I dread every day

Monotony pours coals on the pain

Depression is a fire’

It seems the more I fan out the flame

I question my desire

Could it be the love I feel from my friends

And the pull from family?

Or have I left something undone

That holds me secretly?

Whatever it is, it’s got to give

I’m sick of misery

I know it may land me a berth down below

But there’s something else I’ve got to give

And that’s why I’ve still got to live

To return the love back to my friends

Is reason enough to stay

All they ever wanted from me

Was for me to come out and play

My family has many more needs

Still waiting to be fulfilled

I’m sorry to say I walked away

And much of their love I have killed

The same is true for a lover or two,

A daughter and two wives

Unfinished business .like this is the glue

That sticks us to our lives

If I could I would mend it all in a day

For the rest of my life, I’ll try

Maybe then, if I’m successful at this

I’ll no longer need to

But most likely will have to

Give thanks for my life

And die.

My God

My God

I thought I couldn’t see you

And started to despair

Then I tried to be you

My God!

You’re everywhere

It’s Only Temporary

It’s Only Temporary

One thing I know for sure

Nothing painful can endure

Like the grains of sand

In an hour glass

All the aches and pains

Soon will pass

It’s only temporary strife

In this temporary phase of life

Only love and peace of mind

Are the two things

You won’t leave behind

It’s the truth that will abide

As we make our way

To the Other Side

Won’t be long before

I’m back in stride

When I reach my home

On the Other Side

Once bed bound, paralyzed

Licking wounds with tearful eyes

And it hurt so bad

Till I realized

That this trial by fire

Would not last

It’s only temporary strife

In this temporary phase of life

Only love and peace of mind

Are the two things

You will always find

In the truth that will abide

As we make our way

To the Other Side

Won’t be long before

I’m back in stride

When I reach my home

On the Other Side

“Only the strong survive”

Is a thing I held on to

If it’s true then why

Am I so alive

All the times that I’ve

Almost died

It’s a contemporary lie

In this temporary phase of life

Only Love and peace of mind

Are the two things

You can’t leave behind

It is what we are inside

And we’ll be reminded

On the Other Side

Won’t be long before

I sing with pride,

“I have made it home!”

On the Other Side
