It’s Life That Lives Forever
I don’t believe that death is permanent
I can’t afford to think so
When my last breath is immanent
I ask the Lord to let me know
He said eternal life is what we get
If we remember who we are
And better yet it’s never grim
As long as we remember Him
It’s life that lives forever
Throughout its changing forms
Like seasons change the weather
Life shifts the sands of storms
It understands and doesn’t move
Although we feel somehow
That all the motions we have made
Should prove to be us now
But that’s exactly what is shed
When once again we say we’re dead
All the time and movement drops
When we discover our heart stops
So let this not cause you dismay
You’ll have another heart someday
And next time ’round may you recall
That you are living through it all
