February – Fourteenth Day

February – Fourteenth Day

February

Fourteenth Day

Glad I’m with you

Just wanted to say

The same old three words

I use every time

But in a new way

So you’ll know they’re mine

“Tequiero”

Spanish for

What I’m feeling

But I feel much more

Seems like the best words

Have been used before

I need new language

For one I adore

We could cruise the South Pacific

Through a thousand little isles

Where ever Tagalog is spoken,.

Mahal Kita” brings smiles

I’ll say, “Salamat po” for “Thank you”

And we’ll be off on our way

To celebrate this date:

February

Fourteenth Day

Kinda scary

In a way

To be carried

Away in this way

Not afraid to

Take any chance

So I will tell you

J’taime” That’s from France.

“S’agapo”

That’s the Greek

With a hand-sign,

No need to speak

“Ti-Amo ‘s” Italian

“Ik hou van jou” – Dutch

“Ich liebe dich” is German

I won’t use as much

Long ago cave people painted

Their feelings on the walls

And in some primitive places

They copied animal calls

“Mel in le” is the Elvish

From the Lord of the Rings

“Wo-eye nee” is how the Chinese

Wooed romantic things

Around the world expressions

A zillion different ways

On every February

Fourteenth Day

–Instrumental Bridge–

This could be the best solution

Simply put in foreign tongues

But before I settle on one
There’s a couple more to run

Like a nudge under the table

Like a wink I toss your way

Little things that say “I love you,”

There, I said it anyway.

Different words that share one meaning

I am trying to convey

For this very February

Fourteenth Day

If I Could Sing Again

If I could sing again

I would turn back on the light

And return to feeling right

About my life

I would let it out and soar

If I could sing once more

If I could sing again

I would fill my self with air

Let the sound out everywhere

And then I’d grin

It would make me feel so proud

If I could sing real loud

I could open up the skies

Once I learned to harmonize

And the people down below

Would know

I was singing

I would take off from my home

With my songs and metronome

And wherever I would go

You’d know

I was singing

Yes I’m singing

Singing la la la la laaaa

Again

(Music)

If I could sing again

Like the ones who can

I would choose a hymn

And show them who

I really am

I believe it’s worth a try

To lift my voice up to’

The sky\

I Kiss Your Face

David Brunoehler's Blog

I Kiss Your Face

Whenever you are not getting noticed and feel out of place

I kiss your face

I kiss your face

If you’re left with strange timid feelings you’ve acted in haste

I kiss your face

I kiss your face

When you dare to leave your mark somewhere and it gets erased

I kiss your face

I kiss your face

Even if your facial wrinkles are simple to trace

I kiss your face

I kiss your face

I kiss your face all day all ways all over

Starting from your hairline to your chin

I kiss around your neck like a Latin lover

Nibble on your plump earlobes and then

Nip a little tweak on the tip of your nose

Which causes you to blink then your eyelids close

I lightly press my lips on each of them

Until I feel you smile further south

That’s when I…

So Much String

So Much String

She was the best cloud you floated in on

In the big blue sky we have flown

A gentle mental wind that you knew

A hurricane since she’s been gone

With her feet on the ground

And you in the sky

She kept you lit high

As a Franklin kite

Whenever the winds changed

The higher you flew

As long as you held on

To her hold on you

So why must what goes up, come down

Is there no longer such a thing

As a blissful beating heart?

If it’s the only reason why

The Lonely cry when they sing?

Might as well go fly a kite

All the while remembering…

We’re only given so much string.

Fear you’re falling back, being lapped by the whole human race

I kiss your face

I kiss your face

If your favorite portions of living are going to waste

Even if you brushed your teeth with anchovy paste

I kiss your face

*I Don’t Want to Live Forever* (Rewrite)

*I Don’t Want to Live Forever *

Here’s the way our story started

It’s my favorite one to share

Lived together then we parted

Now I long to go back there

We ran like streams through Indiana

To where the limestone quarries end

Then back to Terre Haute and places more remote

My dreams and memories call me back  to them

I don’t want to live forever

I just want to live with you

For the laughter that comes after

Funny things you say and do

I’ve got a stack of our old pictures

Some I’ve almost worn clear through

That is where I find forever

Frozen In the few

I’m clinging to

I’m grounded out in California

Odds of going home are thin

But I’ll be glad to wait

To meet at Heaven’s Gate

Then eternity I’d spend

But I don’t understand forever’

It’s a place erased of time

I barely comprehend

Right now, and then

How to leave the past behind

–music break–

If I could look into the I could look into the future

I’d predict a happy end

A life of luxury and pleasure

Won’t equal moments with my friend

We ran like streams through Indiana

And I’d do it all again

Back to Terre Haute and places more remote

Just to be with you my friend

I don’t want to live forever

I just want to live with you

For the laughter that comes after

Funny things you say and do

I’ve got a stack of our old pictures

Some I’ve almost worn clear through

That is where I find forever

Frozen In the few

I’m clinging to

Nuthouse Nursery Rhymes

Nuthouse Nursery Rhymes

Panic

So you panic when you fear

And worry when you hurt

The bravest souls have also, dear,

Now chill out – hit the dirt.

If You Want To Fight Depression

If you want to fight depression

You needn’t take a pill

Just find something to laugh about

Invent another thrill

If you want to fight depression

Go right ahead — feel sad

But bare in mind it’s over:

That once good thing you had

If you want to fight depression

Most people fret and stew

Why not try to find them

And something new to do

If you want to fight depression

It doesn’t help to yell

But go ahead and let it out

Raise a little hell

I Remember Who You Are

I remember who you are

You are a love I’ve known

And just to set the record straight

We never were alone

Throughout the years, I now know how,

Abandonment seemed real

Illusion I can see through now

And feel the way you feel

As I remember who I am

I’ll show you more of you

It’s just the way it’s always been

In truth, it’s what I do.

Mercy

If you want to ask God for mercy now

You needn’t waste your breath

You’ve always been in His good grace

How so? You’ll learn at death

When Someone Stands You Up

Whenever someone stands you up

Don’t take it close to heart

But rather take their picture out

And tear it all apart

No, really, don’t mean to be mean

Accept their ill excuse

Because whatever else you do

You’ll wonder: “What’s the use?”

Is Nothing Sacred?

You fret you live as if nothing is sacred

I’d like to help you out

If nothing is, then all is not

See? What you worried about?

Perhaps the reverse, in fact, is true

All blessedness abound

Well I, for one, think that’s more fun

So now, I’m lost and found

Hmmm…

Freeloading find you guilty?

Bad credit got you down?

No end in sight to hardship?

High hopes have hit the ground?

Hmmm…

Remember what you’ve given

At times you could have charged

It may not be a lack of worth

But that your heart is large

Insecure

Insecure?

Sure.

Inept?

Nyet!”

When You Feel Lonely

You ask why you feel lonely

No wonder you’re so blue

The answer is this only:

You’ve been untrue to you.

You ask if you’re forgiven

The answer: always yes

So what, pray tell, will you do?

Tell the truth – or guess?

How Sorry Can You be?

So you confessed you told a lie

How sorry can you be?

It’s time you pick yourself up high

For one and all to see.

Dis-ease

It’s not about the voices

That tell you you’re dis-eased

But rather, sticky choices

Now then, let go … release!

You Make Me Sick

You make me sick

Or so I thought

Until I learned

You’re well

Oh, what a trick

Um, I forgot

Sometimes it’s hard to tell

How to Find Heaven

If Heaven is a state of mind

Of peace, of love and joy

That should not be hard to find

Repeat:

Oh, boy!”

Oh, boy!”

Oh, boy!”

My God

I thought I couldn’t see you

And started to despair

Then I tried to be you

My God!

You’re everywhere!
